Our History

Bran-Den Junior School(Peppercorn Premier Schools Ltd) – Naivasha was conceived by its proprietor in 2007 during the turbulent times of the election violence. After a visit to her sister Margaret Mbaka in Naivasha, where her vehicle was vandalized by boys displaced by the violence, she felt a deep need to provide a safe haven and educational opportunities for affected children. With a degree in Education and a passion for children's welfare, she collaborated with her sister to purchase land in Naivasha. They divided the property, with Madam Janet establishing a school and her sister starting a holiday resort. In 2008, Madam Janet took early retirement from her senior managerial position in the IT department at the Housing Finance Company of Kenya. On January 12, 2009, she opened Bran-Den Junior School, named after her two sons Brian and Dennis, in the Peppercorn area of Nyondia, Naivasha. Initially planned as a kindergarten, the school quickly expanded to accommodate learners up to grade 6 due to high demand from parents. Madam Janet committed to providing affordable education in a nurturing environment and pledged to support at least five needy but talented students through to university. Under her leadership, the school presented its first KCPE candidates in 2011, achieving a mean score of 362 and a 100% transition rate to top provincial and national schools. This success established Bran-Den Junior School as a sought-after institution, attracting students from across Kenya and neighboring countries like Tanzania and Ethiopia by 2012. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the school reopened in 2021, continuing its tradition of excellence. However, Madam Janet's increasing external engagements began to impact the school's quality standards. Contemplating further studies in Education Management, she decided to lease the school to a principal and two other partners on May 1, 2021, after ensuring all candidates had completed their KCPE exams. Madam Janet then pursued a Master's degree in Education Management at Strathmore University, excelling in her studies and gaining recognition in the university's annual highlights. Shortly after her graduation in June 2024, she resumed the oversight of the school operations leading to the rebranding and relaunching of the school as PEPPERCORN PREMIER SCHOOL LIMITED. With renewed passion and a team of professionals, Madam Janet continues to drive the school towards new heights, with aspirations of establishing a university. Long live PEPPERCORN PREMIER SCHOOLS LIMITED, the brainchild of Madam Janet Mbaka!
